14 MAY 2012 - MUSEUM CLOSES FOR CONSTRUCTION
Weens die aanbring van hysbakke vir gestremdes asook 'n nuwe brand- en lugreëlingstelsel deur Departement Openbare Werke, sal die Oorlogsmuseum vanaf 14 Mei 2012 vir 'n onbepaalde tyd gesluit wees. Vir doeleindes van konstruksie moet ontruiming van die uitstallings plaasvind. Die kantoorblok, terrein en restourant sal steeds toeganklik wees ten spyte van die opgradering van die parkeer-area. Die museum sal so gou moontlik na afhandeling van konstruksie heropen.
Due to the installation of lifts for the disabled as well as a new fire and airconditioning system by the Department of Public Works, the War Museum will be closed from the 14th of May 2012 for an indefinite period. Most of the exhibitions must be removed for construction purposes. The office block, terrain and restaurant will still be open for the public despite the upgrading of the new parking area. The museum will re-open as soon as construction is completed.

'n Gedenklesing i.v.m die vegtende Burgers wat deelgeneem het aan Anglo-Boereoorlog tot die Bittereinde sowel as die Burgers wat geneuwel het terwyl hulle op Kommando was.
A commemorative lecture regarding the combatant participants of the Anglo-Boer War that fought till the bitter end as well as those Burghers that died in the field while on commando.

Aanbieding van ‘n opvoedkundige program met aktiwiteite, praatjies ens. oor die ontwikkeling van speelgoed wat dateer van uit die Anglo-Boereoorlog periode (1899-1901) tot die moderne speelgoed waarmee kinders vandag speel.
An educational programme focused on young children with activities, talks etc. about the development of toys dating from the Anglo-Boer War period (1899-1902) till the modern toys children play with today.
